News and Events

Pastor Skip's Musing
I was not anticipating writing a farewell letter this soon.  Unfortunately, due to serious health issues for my wife, Jan, I have to resign from my call with you folks. We covet your prayers for guidance of the doctors as they continue trying to figure out what is going on.

In my all too brief time with you, I have developed a deep affection for your faith family. We will continue to hold you in our prayers as you work through the pastoral search process.

Rev. Heidi Bolt, and the Committee On Ministry, are working to locate a replacement for me.

May God richly bless you as you move forward.

A Letter from Pastor Scott
Dear Friend at First Presbyterian Church,

It has been a little over a month since I preached my last sermon on Easter Sunday and I meant to send a note for the newsletter the following week, however I was on my way to Boston for an urgent family need the very next day.  I thank you for the prayers you and Pastor Skip offered in our support.

I also wish to express my gratitude to you for the opportunity to minister in your community through the winter and early spring. It was truly and honor to be welcomed as your temporary pastor during that time. I will continue to keep you in my prayers as you do the work of figuring out a way forward during this uncertain and difficult time. One thing I hope I connected for you in my preaching was that you are not along in your uncertainty. The landscape is changing for the church everywhere. In the midst of this changing landscape and uncertainty is an opportunity to create modern disciples of Jesus Chris for the transformation of our world!

My prayer will be that you will hang in there, love one another, and find new and meaningful ways to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with your community. The ministry is yours, and I pray that you will find a pastor to help ou grow in your new ministry opportunities.

Grace and peace be with you.
 - Pastor Scott -
